Air ambulance called after A42 collision near Ashby - one person taken to hospital

An air ambulance was called after a collision on the A42 near Ashby on Sunday morning.
Two vehicles were involved in the incident between Junctions 11 and 12 northbound, causing a two-mile tailback.
One person was taken to hospital by helicopter as a precaution - but no serious injuries were reported.
The stretch of dual carriageway was closed for more than an hour, causing delays of around 20 minutes.
A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police told Ashby Nub News: "We were called to a report of a two-vehicle collision on the A42 just before 8.30am.
"While the air ambulance did attend, no serious injuries were reported.
"One person was taken to hospital by ambulance as a precaution. No-one was arrested."
National Highways reported at the time: "Traffic has been temporarily held on the A42 northbound between J11 (Appleby Magna) and J12 (Packington) following a collision involving a car.
"Emergency services including Leicestershire Roads Policing Unit are on the scene.
"Delays of 10 minutes and approx one mile of congestion on approach."
National Highways added: "Lane 2 (of 2) is now open on the A42 northbound following the earlier collision.
"Lane 1 remains closed whilst emergency services work at the scene.
"There are delays of 20 minutes and approx two miles of congestion on approach."
The carriageway was fully re-opened but drivers were reminded that there were long delays as a result.
