Residents of Malvern Crescent in Ashby have raised concerns over an aggressive cat which is claimed has attacked a puppy in the area.

The animal is said to be following dog walkers and is not scared of people.

One contributor to the Nextdoor site says that it attacked their puppy, after emerging from underneath a parked car, leaving it with several deep scratches on its face and nose.

It is also said to have scratched a man who tried to break the animals up.

The cat's behaviour has provoked suggestions that it should not be allowed out on the streets and people in the area are keen to find out who the owner is.

Another contributor to the site said they feared walking their dog in case they came across the cat.
