Santa Claus is coming to town this Christmas after all

Message from Lapland

Hello Everyone,

Here in Lapland we are all very busy getting ready for Christmas, but this year we have a problem that all of you boys and girls can help with.

Because of the Coronavirus – yes we've got it here as well- we have been in isolation, and some of us have had to rest, so it is important that we all stay safe.

As much as I love to come and visit everyone in December, I couldn't think how, when I will need to come back to deliver your presents, but Rudolph has suggested that we do things differently.

We all know the rules about keeping our distance and that is really difficult, as I know you like to climb on my sleigh and have a chat.

However, I don't think I have enough hand sanitiser and antibacterial spray to let you all do that. So here is Rudolph's idea.

I will still visit Ashby de la Zouch and the surrounding area as usual, BUT with some changes.

The sleigh will be out on the streets, as usual, during the evenings. I will ask my earth driver to go really slowly, so you can run down your drive and wave as I go past.

Your parents will be getting some more information soon about a tracker, so that you know where I am and you will be ready when I come to your road.

Also, because I will not be stopping to talk to all of you, I will not be out every night, so your parents will have to look out for the dates.

I also know that some of you, and your parents like to give us money, which my friends in the Rotary Clubs of Ashby de la Zouch use to help local charities.

Mrs. Claus will be letting you know how you can still do this and will send more information to Ashby Nub News and Facebook nearer to December.

See you soon. Be good.

Love from

Santa
