Ashby's newest Irish bar, Fitzgeralds, has received a warm welcome, with its owners praising the positive response from customers and the local community.

Fitzgeralds officially opened its doors on Friday 9 October, following a 10-month transformation of the former Manhattans nightclub in Ashby town centre.

The new venue has been transformed into a traditional-style Irish pub, offering Guinness, Irish-inspired food, live sport and entertainment.

A spokesperson for the company said the response since opening had been extremely positive, with customers particularly impressed by the food and the new-look venue.

"The response to the launch has been extremely positive, with fantastic feedback from both customers and the local town council," the spokesperson said.

"The entire team has worked incredibly hard to ensure a smooth opening of our 8th site, and we're delighted with the feedback we've received about the food."

The venue features a purpose-built kitchen serving dishes including Irish spice bags and Fitzgeralds' signature kebabs, alongside homemade sauces.

Customers can also enjoy interactive darts booths, three brand-new pool tables and live sport, while the bar's specially designed cellar system has been installed with the aim of serving consistently high-quality pints, particularly Guinness.

Beyond the opening, the owners are also celebrating the positive impact the new business is having on the local economy, with 30 full-time and part-time jobs created.

The spokesperson added: "Equally important is the opportunity to give back to the local community by charging great prices on pints and creating 30 full-time and part-time jobs.

"We're proud to be investing in the area and look forward to welcoming more customers through our doors."

With its doors now officially open, Fitzgeralds hopes to establish itself as a popular destination for food, drinks, sport and socialising in the heart of Ashby.
