Right at Home East Staffs has bought festive joy to six clients and their carers with a heart-warming trip to see Dick Whittington at Derby Arena. 

The trip is part of the organisation's Making Wishes Come True initiative, as just one of many wishes granted throughout the year. 

The team at Right at Home East Staffs run a monthly draw, inviting their clients to submit a personal dream, treat or experience that they would love to become reality. Each month, one wish is selected and bought to life by the office and care teams.

The six clients and six carers that went to the pantomime enjoyed a festive afternoon out with refreshments, drinks and ice cream during the interval.

This was just one of the many treats granted this year, with others enjoying afternoon teas, a day out to a garden centre and a very meaningful treat for palliative-care patient Sally. 

Sally wished for a self-care manicure, telling Deputy Manager Karen that 'to go to heaven with painted nails was a dream come true.' 

Pampering and self-care was a treasured parts of Sally's life and the team were honoured to help her fulfil this final wish with love and dignity.

Registered Manager Melanie Rowland said: 'We've had an amazing year making wishes come true for our clients. 

'To end the year by taking six clients to the pantomime is just magical. Every wish we fulfil – big or small – reminds us why we do what we do. It's about creating moments of joy, connection, and comfort for the people we support.'
