Castle Medical Group in Ashby has confirmed that is contacting patients in the Over-80s age group to receive Covid vaccinations at the Measham Leisure Centre.

We reported on Friday that the Long Lane surgery in Coalville had said the North West Leicestershire jabs would be given at the Measham Hub.

Now Castle Medical has given further details for its Ashby area patients on its Facebook page.

But it also warns that some routine surgery services may have to be 'slowed down'.

Castle Medical's post reads: "We would like to confirm that we are contacting patients to book appointments to have the Covid Vaccination, starting with those over 80 first.

"As part of the delivery of the vaccines, we have been asked to provide these from one location for all patients in North West Leicestershire and this will be Measham Leisure Centre.

"The reason for this is to support with the logistics around vaccine delivery and storage.

"As a practice we will have staff working at the hub to support the vaccination programme alongside colleagues from the other practices in North West Leicestershire.

We would like to reassure you that as a practice we will still be providing medical services for our patients.

"However, please bear with us as some routine services may have to be slowed down."
