The Tap At no76 in Market Street will be the next Ashby pub to fully re-open to the public this week.

The Tollgate Brewery micropub was one of the first to attempt to open during lockdown when it began a takeaway service in May Ashby pub preparing to open its doors.

But now it intends to let customers through the doors and to its bar from Wednesday - although strict social distancing measures will be in place.

And larger parties are advised to book in advance.

Ashby's larger pubs have been open since July 4.

But The Tap at no76 decided to wait a little longer and the pub's Facebook page explained what will happen.

It said: "Exciting times, the Tap is reopening this Wednesday 19th August!!!

"We will be operating with Government social distancing measures firmly in place.

"You will be greeted at the door, seated where its safe for you to do so and served at your table.

"You must stay seated where the staff have directed you to. Dogs must be on leads and kept close at all times. Cash and card will be accepted.

"For parties of five or more we recommend booking a table via the email [email protected].

"We are also serving Crafternoon Teas if you are feeling peckish as well as thirsty, but be sure to book by the Monday of the week in question.

"We will continue our full takeout service for those of you not ready to re-enter, and this will be conducted at the door so you don't need to even come in!

"Thank you for your amazing support these past few months, but it's time to open our doors fully once again.

"Wednesday 4pm-10pm; Thursday 4pm-10pm; Friday 4pm-10pm; Saturday 12noon-10pm."
