Ashby Fire Crew Called To Bardon Hill Industrial Unit Blaze On Sunday Morning

A crew from Ashby Fire Station were called out to a blaze at an industrial unit in Bardon Hill, near Coalville, this morning (Sunday).

They joined two appliances from Coalville to tackle the fire in a warehouse Maple Court, off Walker Road.

No-one was hurt in the incident and the owner was at the scene as fire engines arrived.

In all, there was 10 per cent fire damager caused to plasterboard and racking and the blaze was put out just after 11.50.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service gave more information about the fire on their website.

They said: "Initial call came from the occupier of the building to advise that smoke had been seen issuing from the unit.

"Two fire appliances and a Tactical Response Vehicle were mobilised.

"The fire was located in the main warehouse. Two crew members wearing breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and one main jet were in use.

"The owner was in attendance at the scene and there were no casualties.

"Fire extinguished and positive pressure ventilation fan in use."
