Mad Jocks and Englishman
National Forest Folk Club, Moira
Music
Friday 17th January
Mad Jocks and Englishman are now celebrating nearly 50 years in the music business. However, thanks to hormone regeneration treatment, they are still fit and willing to carry out public engagements at the drop of a Saga brochure.
The band has not only a firm Birmingham base, but enjoys an established national reputation, and provides a unique blend of music and amusement to suit all audiences. The roots are in folk music but this has developed over the years to encompass contemporary music, bluegrass, country and a generous helping of humour.
The Jocks have appeared throughout the UK, Western Europe, the Middle East and the Far East. The venues include everything from intimate folk clubs and village halls to the Docklands Arena and Olympia. They have ten albums to their credit and have appeared on radio and TV both at home and abroad.
A typical evening will include sensational songs, side splitting stories, incredible instrumentals, great gags - all combining to give a belting night out.
