The club adds that they have the backing of Ashby de la Zouch Town Council and are appealing to anyone who wants to get involved,

The new club launches today (Tuesday) and have put out a release to explain how they will work.

It says: "We are pleased to announce the launch of Ashby United Community Football Club.

"The club has been created to meet the expanding demand for local sports clubs within the area, that provide a safe and enjoyable environment for juniors and seniors of all ages.

"Ashby United CFC will offer an inclusive approach to maximise engagement and participation across the whole town and surrounding area.

"Players, coaches, members and patrons will all enjoy an opportunity to be active contributors to the club and its development and future direction.

"With the help of the local town council, Ashby United CFC will have available local training and playing facilities, supported by a large group of qualified coaches and officials to ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with the governing bodies of the Football Association and County Football Association best practice guidelines and statutory requirements and standards.

"Launching with a range of junior teams and a seniors' Sunday team it is our intention to expand to meet the growing needs of the community.

"Whilst the new club has a dedicated group of volunteers, we are mindful that the town is full of talented people who could provide significant additional value.
