A woman was arrested after an incident at an address in Avenue Road, Ashby, on Saturday in which two people were injured - with one needing hospital treatment.

Police were called at around 9pm with a number of officers and vehicles in attendance - after 'concern for the welfare of a woman inside'.

A 42-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent – but police say she has since been released with no further action being taken.

A spokeswoman for Leicestershire Police said: "We were called at around 9pm on Saturday (17 October) to a report of concern for the welfare of a woman inside an address in Avenue Road, Ashby.

"Officers attended the scene and found a woman had sustained a minor injury which didn't require hospital treatment.

"A man had also been injured at the address – his injury was described as minor and he was treated at hospital – he has since been discharged."
