Why A Police Helicopter Was Called Out To Oakthorpe on Wednesday Night

A police helicopter was called out to the Oakthorpe area on Wednesday night after a man was reported missing.

The search centred on Saltersford Valley, Measham Road, Oakthorpe close to midnight.

Police said that the helicopter was used to assist officers searching for the man.

A police spokeswoman confirmed to Ashby Nub News: "We received a report at 11.42pm yesterday (Wednesday 19 February) concerned for the welfare of a man. 

"National Police Air Service assisted officers on the ground searching in the Saltersford Valley area, the man was located shortly afterwards."
