The Lyric Rooms kick off the new year with a night of comedy tonight (Thursday).
Mark Simmons, Scott Bennett and Ronnie Golden are joined by compere Spiky Mike for the Ashby Funhouse Comedy and Curry Night.

The Venture Theatre in Ashby has a night of jazz on Saturday night.
Spats Langham & his Hot Fingers will be playing live at the North Street venue.
'Spats' Langham is a loved jazz musician and his band complement him.
The evening is guaranteed to be a delight. The show looks to be a sell-out but please check with the venue.

The Black Lion in Blackfordby has live music with Dominic Crane.
The venue is kicking off January on Saturday with the popular singer.

Ashby Civic Society is holding its first talk of the new year next Tuesday.
Biodiversity in the National Forest will be the subject and Dr Heather Gilbert will be speaking at St Helen's Heritage Centre at 7.30pm.
