This weekend's Ashby events cover a wide range of entertainment and activities hopefully there is something for everyone.

Thursday night (Oct 5) see the Lyric Rooms host a Funhouse Comedy and Curry Night.

Terry Alderton, Eddie Brimson, Sully O'Sullivan, Dave Wilder and compere Spiky Mike are all on the bill at the Lower Church Street venue.

Saturday sees the return of Ashby's Fabulous in the town centre - this year shops and businesses will be celebrating 100 years of Disney.

How well do you know your Disney movies? See how you get on in the town trail quiz and receive a goody bag.

Get your Disney costume out and enter a fancy dress competition with 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners.

There will be models in some shop windows between 11am & 3pm.

Running alongside Ashby's Fabulous, there will be a Fashion Show at St Helen's Church.

This will be to mark the end of the 'Sew It, Don't Throw It' project - and is a free event.

Ashby Concert Band will be performing a selection of classical music on Saturday at 7:30pm at St Helen's Church in Ashby.

The band will be performing popular classical pieces from the likes of Shostakovich, Strauss, and Ernest Tomlinson, to name but a few.

Funds are being raised for St Giles Hospice and helping them continue their vital work in the community and in their hospice.

On Sunday, Donisthorpe Apple Day is being held in Chruch Street.

This is a free event and wide range of activities will be available.

It is another busy week at Brew in Market Street.

Starting on Thursday, there is an open mic night hosted by Warren Stanford.

On Saturday, Brew has more street food in the shape of Call It Snap.

That is follow day later by Brew's Lazy Sunday Afternoon session.

This week, Julie Tickle will be playing live from 3pm.

The circus is still on in Moira.

You can James Richards Circus at Moira Furnace and Country Park until Sunday.

This year the circus pleased to welcome even more new artists to the JRC big top with their acts of skill, glamour, danger and daring of course not forgetting a very healthy helping of comedy - all at affordable prices.
