Ashby Venture Theatre begins its presentation of Jane Eyre tonight (Thursday).

From the novel by Charlotte Bronte, this is a play adapted by Mark Jowett.

Jane Eyre is the story of one woman's fight to free herself of the oppressive conventions of Edwardian life and to live on her own terms.

Facing obstacles, she survives poverty, injustice and the discovery of a bitter betrayal before deciding to follow her heart.

Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre is arguably one of the greatest love stories of all time and continues to inspire writers around the world.

Saturday afternoon sees the return of the Lyric Rooms' Bottomless Brunch.

Ladies gather your friends together for a fabulous indulgent afternoon - because you deserve it.

After a successful first Bottomless Brunch in June - it is back at The Lyric Rooms.

Enjoy a delicious home cooked brunch menu whilst sipping on 90 minutes of unlimited Prosecco, Mimosa's or Mixed berry mocktails.

As usual, there is plenty going on at Brew in Market Street.

They have three events on this weekend, starting tonight (Thursday) with an open mic night hosted by Mitch Colcombe.

There are two tribute acts appearing at Conkers over the weekend.

Friday sees an Elvis tribute at the Moira venue.

The Elvis Legacy – Mark Summers Tribute to Elvis Presley is one of the top selling international Tribute acts, voted the UK's Official Number One Elvis Tribute!

Three times Winner of the National Tribute Music Awards; described as 'The closest to ELVIS' performing worldwide for over 15 years! Appearing with Elvis movie co-stars, original band members, close friends, Memphis Mafia and members of the Presley family including Priscilla Presley.

Mark has been lucky enough to be invited to meet Priscilla four times and is a top selling International Elvis Tribute Artiste; Direct from 'Memphis' and the 'The West End'

And, on Saturday, Foo Fighters GB take to the stage at Conkers.

They are considered the most authentic and genuine recreation of a Foo Fighters gig in the tribute world.

This band has developed an enviable reputation, with years of hard work and a love of Foo Fighters music, which now has them booked throughout the UK, into Spain, Holland, Germany and beyond. The band have invested heart and soul into creating a genuine sound, using authentic instruments as used by the Foos.  Including the drum kit, used by the Foo Fighters at the now legendary Glastonbury headline gig. (The only other kit in the world to this spec).

Now appearing as a seven piece line up with backing vocals and keyboards, the sound is more epic than ever!
