This Saturday sees a milestone for the Packington Village Show, which is marking its 80th anniversary and hoping to make it a real celebration.

Count your carrots, arrange your Asters and whip up your best biscuits at the show which will be held at Packington Memorial Hall.

It will feature the usual sections for home grown vegetables and flowers plus items of craftwork as well a homebrew section.

The popular baking section has savoury and sweet categories from sausage rolls and home baked bread to traybakes and of course the hotly contested Dundee cake.

There are also sections for children such as designed miniature garden, Lego models and biscuits. It will be a great opportunity for everyone to get involved, whether you want to showcase your skills and enter or simply just want to take a look at the fabulous pieces the talented community have created.

The show is not just for professional growers but is open to everyone. Food and refreshments will be available in the evening, along with a raffle and the famous auctioning off of all the produce.

This year's 80th anniversary edition of the Show Guide contains information on all the categories, including entry forms, details for the day itself as well as a little bit more insight into the team behind the event along with a history of the Village Show.

The band put you slap bang in the middle of the show with hit after hit. Back to Black, Rosie, Highway to hell – the songs go on and on until the cannons fire ceremoniously to bring the evening to a superb crescendo.

Formed in Limehouse, East London, in 1993, Limehouse Lizzy In Action! are now in demand at Lizzy tribute gigs and conventions around the world.
