Northern Soul Night at Central Bar, Ibstock

On Friday 18th July, from 7.30pm to midnight, Central Bar in Ibstock will be hosting the Ibstock Soul Club for their Northern Soul Night.

Hosted by resident DJs Richard Reed, Robert Gray and Sean Taylor, Malcom Greenslade will also join the line up for the evening, playing the best in Northern Soul and Tamla Motown, all on vinyl.

Tickets are available for £5, cash only and if you wish to enjoy a meal too, the Griddle and Smoke Restaurant is also now open serving hot meals and snacks. There will also be 'sensible priced' drinks and a dance floor ready to boogie on.

IBSTOCK SOUL CLUB - Northern Soul Night

DJ Nico at The Railway Inn

The Railway Inn in Swadlincote has music from DJ Nico from 6pm until late this Friday 19th July.

The Railways is a large pub on Midway Road, Swadlincote holding regular music events, with recent performers including an Elvis-tribute and 90's School Disco.

'Extra Stitches' Stitching Day at St Helen's Community Heritage Centre

For anyone looking to meet likeminded people, spend quality time learning a new skill or honing an existing one, or looking to use a sewing machine help on hand from an expect, visit St Helen's 'Extra Stitches' on Saturday 19th July.

Running between 10.30am to 2.30pm, this event can be attended as a a drop in or for the whole day.

Bring along projects you are already working on or get involved in their simple shopping bag making project.

There is a £5 entry fee with tea and coffee available.

Dabbs on Wheels Street Food Pop-Up

Dabbs on Wheels will be serving up delicious Indian street food this Saturday at Brew in Ashby between 4pm and 8pm.

Food can be enjoyed in Brew with one of their popular beers or can be taken away.

Brew have weekly Street Food pop-ups every weekend, with popular local food stands.

Pantaloons Theatre presents Sense and Sensibility

This open-air production of Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen will be performed by The Pantaloons Theatre Company at Osgathorpe Hall on Sunday 20th July at 3pm.

Described as a 'funny, fast-paced and faithful new adaptation from the critically-acclaimed Pantaloons Theatre Company features live music, audience interaction, romance and heart break.'

Tickets for this production are available from the box office or online, costing £16 for adults and £9 for children under 16.

Gates open at 2pm with the show starting at 3pm - bring a picnic and something to sit on (and a coat if rain is expected).
