What is XII? And why is it a big part of a well-known Ashby venue's relaunch?
Visitors to an Ashby wine bar and restaurant recently have been handed a card which says simply 'XII'.
The card has been given to diners at The Vine in Bath Street.
But what does it mean? Ashby Nub News decided to dig a little further to see what is happening.
The Vine came under new management earlier this year and, despite a thorough redesign previously, the new owners have decided to take the venue up a level in the new year.
Following the new year celebrations at the end of this month, The Vine will be closed for around two months from early January
That is so that it can have a complete refit inside. But that will not be the only change.
The new owners, known for having a number of bar/restaurants in the area, also want to offer a new menu to customers. It will also have a new name - XII - hence the cards.
A spokesman for The Vine said: "We plan to make it an upmarket restaurant, the sort of place you might find in the centre of London.
"We'll be offering fine dining as part of the menu. There are a number of restaurants in Ashby of course, but we don't think there's anything like this.
"The aim is to offer a new dining experience in the town, and one we think will be very popular.
"But the bar will have an eclectic feel to it, and the restaurant a more exclusive style with an emphasis on good food.
"You'll be able to come into the town centre at the weekend and sit down for a proper family Sunday roast."
The Vine owners plan to re-open sometime in February and think the new name sums up the image of what it will look like in the new year.
The spokesman added: "We think it creates an image of an upmarket restaurant and the sort of clientele we hope will be coming here.
"The name? It's based on our address, 12, Bath Street, and we hope it will be a valuable addition to Ashby, especially with a number of new venues opening up here at the moment."
