By Graham Hill 12th Aug 2021

Two homes were burgled on an Ashby estate overnight (between Wednesday and Thursday) - and a Mini Cooper was stolen from outside one of the houses.

Police were called to the incidents which happened between 11pm and 6am.

An appeal has been issued for anyone who saw anything suspicious between those hours.

A spokesman for Leicestershire Police said: "Police are currently investigating two separate reports of burglary at addresses in Trinity Close, Ashby.

"Both are believed to have occurred between 11pm yesterday (Wednesday 11 August) and 6am today.

"In one incident, items including a camera, camera equipment, a laptop and bank cards were taken.

"In the other, a set of keys and a Mini Cooper parked outside were taken, along with two handbags.

"The investigation is continuing and anyone with information – or who saw anyone acting in an unusual or suspicious manner – is asked to call 101."
