Traffic warnings around Ashby issued ahead of this weekend’s Download Festival

Download Festival is returning to Donington Park on Friday 13th to Sunday 15th June, impacting traffic in the area with delays and disruption expected.
While there will disruption across these dates, organisers have warned residents that the peak times for traffic in the area will be between 8:30am and 4pm on Wednesday 11th, Thursday 12th, Friday 13th and Monday 16th June.
The festival will be sharing live travel updates on their website throughout the weekend, helping drivers plan their journeys.
Roads likely to be affected include the A42 between Ashby and where the A42 joins the M1 at junction 23A.
There will also be traffic restrictions on:
- Moor lane,
- From Green Lane to Ashby Road,
- Rempstone Road,
- From Gelscoe Lane to Mill Lane,
- Top Road, Melbourne Road,
- Ashby Road East,
- A511 from the A42 junction and A512 Ashby Road to Nottingham Road,
- Tonge Lane,
- Salter Road,
- Slade Lane,
- Tamworth Road,
- Roundabout at the junction of Station Road and Broad Rushes,
- Walton Hill,
- Bosworth Road,
- Castle Donington Relief Road
