Leicestershire County Council says a main route through Ashby will be closed next weekend.

Bath Street will be blocked off to motorists for one day next Sunday (June 6).

This will be to allow Cadent Gas to work on new connections.

A diversion will be in place via Station Road, Tamworth Road, A42, A511, Nottingham Road, Wood Street and Market Street - and vice-versa.

The short-term work appears to be once again linked to the new Jaguar Land Rover plant at Appleby Magna.

Bath Street has already been closed off this year so that has works can go ahead.
