Three taken to hospital after 'serious' weekend collision in village close to Ashby

Police are investigating a serious collision that occurred in a village close to Ashby on Friday night (July 19).

Officers are appealing for witnesses to the incident in Moor Lane, Tonge - and are particularly keen to trace a lorry driver who was driving behind the vehicles involved.

The collision occurred shortly after 10.30pm and involved two cars – a black BMW X3 and a blue Toyota Yaris.

Leicestershire Police report that the three occupants of the BMW sustained serious injuries and remain in hospital undergoing treatment.

Their condition has been described as stable.

A Leicestershire Police spokesperson said: "We would ask that the lorry driver - or anyone who was driving along this road on Friday evening and may have witnessed the collision - gets in touch."
