A prize is on offer once again to find the Best Dressed Window in Ashby ahead of Christmas.

North West Leicestershire District Council is offering shoppers two opportunities to win local shopping vouchers, and all people need to do is vote for their favourite festive window display - and go on the hunt for hidden Santas.

The tinsel has been hung and windows have been dressed, now it is time for the public to judge which window is best.

Voting for the Best Dressed Window competition is now open.

Businesses across the district have been putting their decorating to the test with this year's Christmas display competition, and shoppers can have their say on which should be crowned winner.

The coveted title of Best Dressed Window will be awarded in Ashby, Coalville, Kegworth and Castle Donington, with 47 businesses battling to be crowned winner on their local high street.

But shoppers and visitors should also keep an eye out for Santas hiding in towns and villages across the district.

To encourage people to explore the district, 100 mini Santas - and a few large ones - have been hidden in Ashby, Measham, Coalville, Ibstock, Castle Donington and Kegworth in this year's 'Have you seen Santa?' competition.

Find 10 Santas and enter online for a chance to win local shopping vouchers.

Councillor Tony Gillard, Portfolio Holder for Business at North West Leicestershire District Council, said: "Businesses have pulled out all of the stops to showcase their windows this Christmas, and we're pleased to be able to support them in encouraging footfall into our towns and villages.

"If you've seen a display that really impresses you, we'd love for you to vote for it in this year's competition.

"We're hoping that once again our hidden Santas will be found and spread a little more festive cheer as the days grow colder and darker."
