Americana band Steve Bonham and The Long Road are taking their American Wilderness Odyssey Tour to The Venture Theatre in Ashby.

The British trio create what they call 'moonshine music' – an exploration of the USA's incredible musical origins.

The American Odyssey tour will take audience members on an epic journey through the American Wilderness and arrives in Ashby on Friday, September 17.

The tour features stories and songs from both their acclaimed American Wilderness Odyssey album and its companion book.

There are tales of outlaws, ghost towns and the extraordinary lives of ordinary people, real and imagined.

Both the album and book were inspired by the band's month-long treks and road trips along the backwoods and byways of the southern states in the USA.

Their music blends American folk and country with a swampy New Orleans sound and a rock 'n' roll kick.

The band is made up of Steve Bonham, a songwriter performing vocals and guitar, Chris 'The Bishop' Lydon, performing piano, percussion and vocals, and 'The Big Man' Kev Moore, performing bass, guitar vocals, and percussion.

Steve said: "We're really looking forward to getting on the road again and sharing these tales of moonshine, myth and madness with audiences in Ashby.

"We're really inspired by the great musical roots of USA and have taken a few simple, authentic ingredients, added a little heat and magic to conjure up some rare, raw spirit for The American Wilderness Odyssey project.

"We hope that we can share some of the mystery and intrigue of the southern states and take audiences on a journey with us through the wilderness."

The Autumn tour takes in six towns and cities including Ashby, Salford, Bracknell, London, Eastbourne and Bath.
