Teenager suffers 'slash wounds' after being targeted in Ashby attack - police appeal for information

A teenager was 'slashed' during an assault and robbery by a group of youths in Ashby on Saturday evening.

The incident took place on Saturday evening when the boy, aged 16, was approached by four youths who demanded his phone.

An attack then took place, leaving the boy needing hospital treatment.

Leicestershire Police investigated areas around the park shortly after the incident took place.

They have now issued an appeal for information as a result of the attack.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police told Ashby Nub News: "Officers are investigating a robbery in Hood Park, Ashby, on Saturday (27 July) which took place just before 6pm.

"Four youths approached a 16-year-old boy and demanded his phone.

"He was then assaulted and sustained slash wounds to his head.

"He was taken to hospital and discharged after treatment.

"Enquiries are ongoing into the report and if anyone has any information they are asked to get in touch.

"If you can help please contact 101 or report HERE, quoting crime number 24*446269."
