Two stay-at-home mums have opened a new business in Ashby aimed at catering for younger children.

Alert Imagination opens on Saturday morning (May 24) in Market Street.

Jessica Buckenham, and her business partner Yasmin, will open the doors at 9.30am in what was formerly SimpsonJones Solicitors.

But the business has already proved popular with local families.

Jessica explained: "As mums, we feel Ashby is crying out for a location younger children and their carers can go. 

"We made a business plan on the sofa, and suddenly our plan has come to life. We are nervous, but very excited. 

"The support and buzz we have had from Ashby and the surrounding areas is incredible. 

"It has blown us away. In 24 hours, we had over 160 bookings for our centre."

Jessica described the facilities on offer at Alert Imagination.

She added: "Our centre holds: A role play Village, a sensory room, an activity room which changes daily and follows EFYS, a sensory play garden, a console corner for older kids to come, a small under-five soft play and a small cafe."

Jessica added that a lot of effort has been put into getting the business off the ground.

She added: "Our two families have worked so hard to create this. We have made 99 per cent of it by hand. 

"All the construction has been done by our partners' company 'Alert Fire and Security' and we are so proud of what we've created."

Alert Imagination's Facebook page also give an insight to the business.

It says: "Ashby, for many centuries, has been proud to host a fantastic market street, with a range of commercial shops, leisure and hospitality facilities, treatments to suit all and generally something for everyone. 

"However Ashby, has forgotten one very important clientele - the most important to many of us, our littlest VIPs.

"We are proud of Ashby, and we want to feature its 'landmarks' and teach our toddlers Ashby's heritage within our role play.

"There will be exclusive parties for your little ones, which will be suited to each child's needs - ncluding activity, toys, theme and decor.

"We also have an incredible ourtdoor play area which will be coming in the summer and which will be seasonal changing. Yes, you read that right, a safe, secluded outdoor play area in Ashby's Market Street.

"We will be hosting special events, SEN sessions, coffee mornings for new care givers, foster carer gatherings and lots more. Something for everyone we hope. We also have an amazing upstairs private room to rent for baby and toddler classes".
