A new specialist school in the centre of Ashby is taking its first steps towards opening by recruiting teaching staff.

Huntingdon House School, a newly established independent specialist school located in Ashby town centre, is currently recruiting for a Primary Teacher and a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join its developing team.

The school has been created to provide a nurturing, high-quality learning environment for children with additional needs and is being carefully prepared by an experienced leadership team.

While the school is working through the Department for Education registration process and an official opening date has not yet been confirmed, leaders are now focused on building a strong staff team ahead of opening.

The school is not currently recruiting pupils at this stage.

Rebecca Lewis, Proprietor of Huntingdon House School, said: "This is an exciting opportunity for passionate professionals to be involved from the very beginning of a new school in the heart of Ashby.

"We are looking for staff who share our values and want to help shape a calm, supportive and aspirational environment for children with additional needs."
