This weekend's Ashby events cover a wide range of entertainment and activities hopefully there is something for everyone.

It is Remembrance Sunday this weekend in Ashby - with the town centre closed for the annual service.

There is also a service at St Helen's Church in Ashby before a parade to the War Memorial.

There will also be a short Armistice Day service on Monday, November 11, at the War Memorial starting at 10.45am.

Please note that a number of road closures will be in place on Sunday. They are:

• Burton Road – with the junction of Derby Road;

• Market Street – fully closed from Wood Street onwards;

• Brook Street – fully closed;

• Derby Road – fully closed;

• Station Road - from the junction of Wilfred Gardens;

Kilwardby Street – from its junction with Market Street to the junction of Trinity Close.

Church Services 9.30am. A parade from St Helen's to War Memorial will take place from 10.40am.

On Friday night, the Ashby Concert Band Poppy Appeal Concert is taking place at Holy Trinity Church, Ashby de la Zouch.

Ashby Concert Band will be joined again by the Seaforth Highlanders Drums and Pipes for a stunning evening of music.

The Annual Poppy Appeal Concert raises funds for The Royal British Legion.

The Lyric Rooms has a night of Funhouse Comedy on Thursday (Nov 7).

Topping the bill is Angela Barnes, who has appeared on TV's 'Live at The Apollo', 'Russell Howard's Good News' and 'Mock the Week'; as well as a number of radio shows, including her own series on Radio 4 last year 'You Can't Take It With You'. With her confident sharp delivery and skilful, hard-hitting lines she leaves the crowd laughing all the way home.
