This weekend's Ashby events cover a wide range of entertainment and activities hopefully there is something for everyone.

The Royal British Legion in Ashby will be visible in the town centre on Saturday to raise the profile of the 2024 Poppy Appeal which launches this weekend.

British Legion members will be selling poppies and raising money for forces veterans in the build-up to Remembrance Sunday next month.

The Legion is looking for new members and emphasises that you do not have to be a veteran to be a member and take part in activities.

Peter Edwards (pictured below) is the organiser for the Ashby branch of the Royal British Legion.

Also in Ashby on Saturday, The Fabric Boutique in Market Street is holding a Breast Cancer Fundraising event.

There will be Pink lemonade, cakes, a raffle, tombola, bracrafts gifts and competitions.

There is an open mic music night at The Milking Parlour in Calke on Friday night.

Mitch Colcombe is hosting the event in the venue's Threshing Barn.

It is free entry, no ticket required, beer and freshly made wood-fired pizzas will be available.

Brew in Market Street has its regular Lazy Sunday Afternoon session this weekend.

Local couple Luke and Lucy Hargreaves are the acoustic duo Unplugged.

They cover a broad range of music and have even been known to learn requests in the break when previously performing at Brew.
