Comedy and Curry Night at The Lyric Rooms

The Lyric Rooms is back with another popular Comedy and Curry Night on Thursday 4 June, featuring a great line-up.

This week's comedians are:

• Daliso Chaponda, who came in third place on Britain's Got Talent and went on to have his own show on BBC Radio 4
• Steve Gribbin will be opening the night. Gribbin is a 'diminutive guitar-weilding satirist from Liverpool whose comedy songs and off the wall observations have made him a firm favourite on the comedy circuit.'
• Jay Handley is known for covering a variety of observations, anecdotes and reality
• Aussie comedian Aidan Jones completes the line-up with his effortless charisma, disarming honesty and sharp, curious mind
• Comedy and Curry Night regular Spiky Mike will be comparing the evening

Sixth Birthday Party at Brew

Brew on Ashby's Market Street has a packed weekend planned to celebrate their 6th Birthday.

From Thursday and throughout the weekend, they will be serving a selection of exclusive birthday beers.

On Saturday, there will be a street food pop-up from The Burgerologist from 5-8pm and live music from Andy Watts and Neil Davidson from 8pm.

On Sunday, Eba Sallah will be performing live reggae music from 3pm.

The Great Ashby Gathering

On Sunday 7 June, take a step back in time with the return of Ashby's iconic scooter rally in the heart of Market Street.

Known as The Ashby Gathering, last year over 1,000 scooters arrived on Market Street, creating a real spectacle for both enthusiasts and interested on-lookers.

Taking place from 11am from the Queen's Head Pub, Market Street will be full of classic scooters and modern builds, as well as scooter clubs and lone riders.

Along with checking out the scooters, enjoy live DJs and bands in the bandstand opposite the Queen's Head, as well as authentic Caribbean cuisine and a great community atmosphere.
