Charities, voluntary groups and non-for-profit organisations can now join the North West Leicestershire Community Lottery.

North West Leicestershire District Council is encouraging groups and charities to come along to one of three information sessions to find out what a community lottery is, how to join and the benefits for organisations:

  • Wednesday 8 May (online) 6.30pm - 7.30pm
  • Tuesday 14 May (face-to-face at Stenson House, London Road, Coalville, LE67 3EP) 6.30pm – 7.30pm
  • Friday 17 May (online) 12pm - 1pm

People are encouraged to note their attendance through Eventbrite, available on the website HERE.

There is no application fee to join the lottery as a good cause, and 60p of each £1 ticket sale from North West Leicestershire Community Lottery will be given to local good causes.

Forty pence will go directly towards charities, voluntary organisations, other not-for-profit groups and 20p will go into an NWLDC community fund, with the remainder being put towards prizes, operating costs and VAT.

Paul Sanders, Head of Community Services at NWLDC, said: "The money raised by North West Leicestershire Community Lottery is going to make a lot of difference to grassroots good causes.

"We want this to help our local community groups, that is why it is completely free for charitable organisations to join.

"We'd encourage all charities and community groups to come to the good cause sessions to learn more and start fundraising with our lottery."
