The outdoor pool at Ashby Leisure Centre and Lido is set to open for the 2024 season on Saturday, May 25.

The site, run by leading operator Everyone Active in partnership with North West Leicestershire District Council, has also revealed its full pool programme.

The pool is the only public lido in Leicestershire, and includes a large sandpit filled with activities as well as a 'Splashby Hut' serving a range of refreshments – all combining to make the 'Ashby-by-the-Sea' experience.

Lane swimming is included in the programme, as are pool parties and opportunities for private hire.

Duncan Gibb, Everyone Active's contract manager, said: "We are really looking forward to welcoming families from across the community and seeing everyone enjoying the pool, sun and sand.

"As the only public lido in Leicestershire, we are expecting a busy summer, so we would encourage people to book their places as early as possible.

"Swimming is a hugely important life skill and the lido allows everyone to enjoy a range of activities, no matter what their age or ability."

Customers can book swim slots via the Everyone Active app or everyoneactive.com.

Booking is essential prior to attending. Customers are advised that lane swim sessions are included in their membership.
