Mrs Penclosa at Venture Theatre

Hypnosis. Obsession. Control.

That's how Ashby Venture Theatre are describing their latest play Mrs Penclosa.

Inspired by a short story by Sherlock Holmes author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, this new pyschological thriller play is set in 1920s London where a rational professor Austin Gilroy investigates an unassuming East End medium named Mrs Penclosa.

This atmospheric and unsettling play will premier at Ashby Venture Theatre between 24 September and 3 October, with tickets costing £13.

Macmillan Coffee Morning at The Donington Arms

The Donington Arms is holding a coffee morning on Saturday 26 September to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

There will be a variety of things going on, including activities for children, an outdoor soft play, craft fair, tombola, tea and cake.

The event will be running from 11am to 3pm.

Tea at The Ritz at The Palace, Ibstock

The Palace at Ibstock is hosting a Tea at the Ritz fundraiser marking a decade of support for Breast Cancer Support.

Join them for afternoon tea, a prize draw, live entertainment, crafts and gifts, with all proceeds going to the free In the Pink breast cancer rehabilitation programme across Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire.
