Sky News Comes To Ashby - The scene Of Boris Johnson's Pre-Referendum Visit In 2016
Sky News visited Ashby on Christmas Eve to talk to residents about the new Brexit trade deal.
It was in Market Street on the last of campaigning before the referendum in 2016 that Boris Johnson gave his support to the Leave campaign.
He was with North West Leicestershire MP European Union.
MP says Boris Johnson's Ashby visit was the highlight of the leave campaign.
The area did vote to leave and Sky News returned to Market Street to talk to shoppers about the agreement that finally see the United Kingdom part company with the EU.
Sky also interviewed Mr Bridgen via a remote link - you can watch the video by clicking the link above.
But the members of the public who spoke to Sky reiterated their support for Brexit - with some wishing it had happened sooner.
And it was suggested that the subject of net migration - the difference between the number of immigrants coming into an area and the number of emigrants leaving an area throughout the year - was not the issue it once was.
Mr Bridgen told Sky News: "I'm hoping that, in the next 12 months possibly, we'll have comprehensive free trade, free movement to live, work, start a business in either Canada, Australia or New Zealand, or the UK.
"We're all parliamentary democracies, based on the same democratic system.
"We're all relatively very wealthy countries, so there should be no net migration issues.
"The difference is that with Canada, Australia and New Zealand, we won't be making each other's laws."
However, reporter also made it clear that if anything goes wrong with the new agreement, there will be nowhere to shift the blame.
