Rev your engines and get your cardboard at the ready... Ashby's popular Soapbox Derby is returning for 2026.

The countdown is on for this popular event, featuring a 200-metre course packed with twists, jumps and chicanes, watched by a roaring crowd of spectators.

The Ashby Soapbox Derby will take place on Market Street on Sunday 17 May 2026 and is free to attend for observers.

If you fancy taking on the course, sign your team up and get to work on your soapbox to wow the judges with your design and test your skills on the slope.

It costs £40 per team to enter with slots of junior racers (age 12-17) and adult thrill-seekers (age 18+) to take on the track.

This is sure to be a great family day out with something for everyone, from wacky designs and imaginative costumes to watching the soapboxes take on jumps and twists.
