On Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd August, Ashby Sealed Knot will take place in Ashby Town Centre. The last Sealed Knot took place in Ashby in 2018 and will be returning this weekend for a lively and engaging historic day out.

This English Civil War Re-enactment will take place in several places in the centre of Ashby, including the Bath Grounds, Ivanhoe College and Market Street.

From 12pm on 2nd and 3rd August, a cannon display will take place on the Bath Grounds.

This will be followed by a parade setting off from Ivanhoe School at 1pm, arriving at the battlefield on the Bath Grounds at 1.20pm.

Then a classic re-enactment of an English Civil war battle will commence from 2pm until 2.45pm.

Key road closures to be aware of include the closures of Market Street, North Street, Wood Street, Bath Street, Lower Church Street and Footpath O95.

According to the information submitted to Causeway one.network by Leicestershire County Council, these roads will be closed between 12 noon on 2nd August and 2pm on 3rd August.

However, the road closure signs put up around Ashby Town Centre say the closures will be closed between 1pm and 1.15pm on both 2nd and 3rd August.

During these times, it would be best to avoid Ashby Town Centre as there will likely be queueing and disruption to traffic on surrounding roads.
