An emergency road closure has been put in place at a busy Ashby junction.

Leicestershire County Council Highways has agreed to a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order at Upper Packington Road where it joins Leicester Road.

The closure was set up on Monday and could last for up to seven days.

Highways says it has been put in place for public safety to allow Cadent Gas to trace and repair a gas escape.

The proposed alternative diversion route will be signed on-site.
