NORTH West Leicestershire police have reported on an incident that initially appeared to be concerning - but the conclusion appeared to be more amusing than alarming.

Officers have reported on 'another busy weekend' across the night-time economy, with the warm weather bringing people out in high spirits

A statement says: "We're pleased to report there were not many issues, with the vast majority enjoying their night responsibly and looking out for one another ."

They added: Officers made one arrest for a male who was drunk in charge of a vehicle, who was also found to be outstanding by a neighbouring force.

"We also attended a report of concern for a male found unconscious in an alleyway with what appeared to be blood around his mouth. Thankfully, this turned out to be far less serious than first thought- he had simply decided it was a good place to catch ten winks, and the "blood" was actually sauce from his kebab!

"He was advised this wasn't the safest place to sleep and was safely escorted to a taxi to make sure he got home without further issue.

"We'll be out again next weekend continuing to keep everyone safe. If you're heading out, please enjoy yourselves responsibly and look after your friends."
