Project for new 4G multi-sport facility in Ashby backed by North West Leicestershire Labour Group

In a statement by North West Leicestershire Labour Group, they have spoken on the need for the development of a new 4G multi-sport facility in Ashby.
Councillor Peter Moult, Labour lead for Communities said: "Following the growth in Ashby during recent years, the demand for sports facilities has grown significantly. We believe Ashby deserves good sports facilities that are accessible to everyone. That's why the Labour group is committed to delivering this 4G pitch at the council-owned site just south of the B587, which is publicly owned and ideally located.
"This location offers a sustainable, strategic solution that benefits from existing public ownership, meaning lower costs to the taxpayer and more control for the community. It also helps open the door to additional funding streams, further reducing costs to the taxpayer. We believe this approach ensures the long-term interests of local people."
Additionally, Labour Group Leader Cllr John Legrys said: "Residents deserve action, and we're ready to work with all councillors to get it done. I know Ashby councillors on all sides are keen to see progress for local people. We're ready to deliver for local sport and our communities."
