Private ambulance service to provide additional medical care in the Ashby area during the festive season

A private ambulance service will on hand in Ashby during the Christmas period to on-site ambulance facilities, treatment and care.
Part of the Celebrate Safely campaign, 25 Eight Medical Group is working in connection with North West Leicestershire Council and Leicestershire Police.
The Swadlincote-based service is providing cover on December 16, 23 and 31 from 9pm until 4am.
A crew will be stationed in an ambulance across from The Lamb Inn in Market Street, close to Timpson's, 49 Market St, Ashby.
They will have lifesaving equipment and medication - and will also be there as a safe and warm space for the public should they be required.
The aim is to reduce the burden on the NHS and emergency services by immediate access to onsite care.
The provision of an ambulance crew will also be offered between 10pm and 3am this Friday (Dec 15).
An ambulance crew will be there for anyone who requires support psychologically or physically or who may need assistance treating any injuries sustained while out in the town.
Celebrate Safely is a campaign which takes place across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland to during the festival season.
CEO, James Dean, of 25 Eight Medical Group said: "In light of the recent tragic events that resulted in a young gentleman being killed after leaving a local night-time economy venue, 25 Eight Medical Group will also be offering the same services voluntarily, as a choice made by the organisation to support the local community.
"As an organisation, we're happy to be a part of the initiative developed and in partnership with key organisations such as North West Leicestershire District Council and Leicestershire Police.
"We are devastated to hear of the news over the past few days and send our thoughts and condolences to the family of Tommy Hunter.
"Should any member of the public need our ambulance crew for emotional, psychological, mental or physical support - including injuries and illnesses - during the festive period, please do not hesitate to speak to the venue staff - who are involved and aware of our provisions - or to approach the staff in the ambulance.
"This includes if you are not feeling safe or have any concerns for your or anyone else's safety.
"The choice to add additional dates to the services we are providing already is to support the community under these tragic circumstances."
