A popular Ashby shop is closing after more than 35 years in the town centre.

Wendy's Courtyard Interiors will be shutting its doors this week due to the retirement of owners Wendy and Derek Dytham.

The family have issued a statement confirming the decision to close.

It reads: "After much soul searching, it is with regret that we have decided to close our shop and retire.

"We would like to thank all of our customers, old and not so old, for their custom during our 36 years of trading - many of who have become our good friends.

"We thank you all very much, Wendy & Derek (Wendy's Courtyard Interiors)."

The Mill Lane Mews shop is well known in Ashby as it specialises in interior fittings such as made to measure curtains, pelmets, wallpapers, valances and blinds.

Offering high standard of soft furnishings for the home, Wendy's quickly became established in the town and earned a good reputation.
