North West Leicestershire Police have alerted motorists to a spate of catalytic converter thefts in the Ashby and Coalville area.

This is a problem that was spotted in the North Warwickshire area recently and appears to have headed up the A42.

But it seems thieves are mainly interested in Toyotas (pictured above) and Hondas.

PCSO Rebekkah Hales posted details on Monday and said: "We are making our communities aware that there has been a number of catalytic converter thefts that have taken place around the North West Leicestershire Policing area.

"Thieves have been targeting vehicles, particularly Toyota and Honda vehicles.

"Please remain vigilant and report anything suspicious to the police."
