A fire which broke out at an Ashby property just before Easter is still being investigated by Leicestershire Police.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue were called out to the blaze which happened in Avenue Road last Thursday, April 1.

But nobody was at the property at the time.

A spokesman for Leicestershire Police said: "Around 12.30pm on Thursday, officers were called by Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service about a house fire at a property on Avenue Road, Ashby.

"LFRS quickly brought the fire under control, the property was found to be empty and no injuries were reported.

"Officers attended to assist LFRS and enquiries are ongoing."
