Police have received reports this morning (Thurs) about a dog running loose in Ashby and attacking pets.

A Leicestershire Police spokesman said: "We have received two calls to a report of a dog on the loose in the Malvern Crescent and Clifton Drive area of Ashby this morning.

"It was stated during the call that it was believed that the dog had attacked another dog and cats.

"However we haven't currently received any calls from dog or cat owners reporting such an incident.

"The caller was transferred to the local council who are responsible for lost dogs."
