Police were called to an attempted burglary in Ashby last night (Wednesday).

Officers are investigating the incident which happened at around 11pm.

Burglars tried to break into a house in Templar Road, off Smisby Road.

A Leicestershire Police spokeswoman said: "They made off empty handed in a vehicle after being disturbed.

"Enquiries into the incident are at an early stage and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting 20*556536."

A post on the Spotted Ashby de la Zouch site says that the intruders were trying to steal a car and shows CCTV pictures from last night.

The police would like to see CCTV from any other properties on the estate if anyone has it with the suspects thought to have been checking properties 10 minutes prior to the attempted theft.
