Leicestershire Police are currently investigating an allegation of sexual assault in Willesley Wood Side, Ashby.

The incident is reported to have happened shortly after midnight yesterday (Tuesday 23 June).

The victim, a 16-year-old girl, has alleged she was sexually assaulted by a man.

A spokesman for Leicestershire Police told Ashby Nub News: "An investigation into the incident is continuing, and a scene preservation is in place at the location."

Social media reports said an area was taped off on Tuesday around Willesley Golf Course and across to the Willesley Woodside forestry area.
