Police Investigate After Firework Attack on Ashby House

Police have confirmed a firework was pushed through the letterbox of a house in Holywell Avenue in Ashby on Saturday evening - causing some damage to the property.

No injuries were reported following the incident and police are continuing to investigate.

A Leicestershire Police statement issued on Sunday morning said: "Officers received a report at 7.20pm Saturday, of a firework being pushed through the letterbox of a property in Holywell Avenue, Ashby.

"There was no report of a fire at the property following the incident and no injuries were reported.

"Some damage was caused inside the property.

"Enquiries are ongoing into the incident."
