Police are appealing for witnesses after thieves stole a quad bike from the garden of a house in Smisby yesterday (Weds) afternoon.

The black all-terrain vehicle was loaded onto a silver or grey 4x4 at around 4.30pm.

Derbyshire Police have issued a description of a man, they want to trace in connection with the theft, as wearing black joggers, black trainers and a white tracksuit top.

A force spokesman added: "We would ask anyone who may have been in the area at the time and can help - or may have been offered the quad bike for sale - to get in touch."

Anyone with information should contact Derbyshire Constabulary - quoting incident reference 20000230877 - via a private Facebook message, online Website or by calling 101.
