Pets rescued as three crews called out to kitchen blaze at Ashby property
Three sets of fire crews were called out to a kitchen fire in Ashby on Tuesday.
The blaze broke out at a property in Ridgway Road in the south of the town.
Leicestershire Fire & Rescue Service reported that no-one was hurt but that two pets had to be rescued.
However, it confirmed that firefighters needed breathing apparatus to tackle the fire.
A social media post from LFRS said: "Crews from Ashby Fire Station, along with Coalville and Swadlincote, were called out to a kitchen fire.
"The fire was brought under control using firefighters in breathing apparatus and hose reel jets.
"No one was hurt at this incident and fire crews rescued two guinea pigs."
