North West Leicestershire Police warn about dangers of counterfeit green pills ahead of festival season

In a statement shared by North West Leicestershire Police, they are warning about the rise of dangerous green pills that have been associated with a number of recent deaths and hospitalisations across the country.
The green pills are counterfeit Oxycodone-Nitazene and have proven to be very dangerous to those taking them.

As Download festival is taking place near Ashby this weekend, the Police want to 'encourage people not to take these pills, even in small amounts, and to consider the potential harm of taking any pills.'
Although there have not been any reports of the drugs in the area yet, Police nationally are raising awareness of this dangerous situation, especially around festivals and large events.
They are urging people to seek medical help immediately if they feel unwell, instead of waiting to see if rehydrating or sleeping makes the effects wear off. Acting fast is essential in cases such as this.
